It just takes a lot of elbow work. Use sand paper, steel wool, etc. A belt sander will rip right through the old stains just fine. Use a lower grit to start then finish with some 220 by hand.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09406042906635660517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2478209177212548472.post-21546892526861163142015-08-06T11:16:49.427-07:002015-08-06T11:16:49.427-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09406042906635660517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2478209177212548472.post-49703385415593393572015-08-01T08:11:09.965-07:002015-08-01T08:11:09.965-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09406042906635660517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2478209177212548472.post-40922376661635575532015-03-12T18:05:17.911-07:002015-03-12T18:05:17.911-07:00I have about 25-30 Railroad Carts (original) from ...I have about 25-30 Railroad Carts (original) from an old factory here in Georgia. But they are larger: mine are roughly 6'x3'; and they have front rotating wheels with ball bearings, removable walls on the front and back ends, and metal strips between some of the wooden slats on the bed. I am currently working on the hardware and the wire brush attachment on my drill works well, but the wire brush and steel wool are still a must to work on the corners. I like that the iron started to shine as the grime came off and just sealed it with matte sealant. I had glass cut for the top and did a coat of clear satin finish to protect the wood and Lineberry logo on the sides. It was a great surprise to find the word Lineberry stamped on one of the wheels. Will post pics as my progress continues! ThanksJanneke St. Johnnoreply@blogger.com
